L\u2019arte del dono richiede sensibilit\u00e0, raffinata e sobria eleganza, trasparenza e leggerezza.<\/p>\n

Elio Di Franco \u00e8 l\u2019incarnazione di queste qualit\u00e0. Lo ha sottolineanto, presentandolo, Laura Andreini. Le comunica con immediatezza. Si leggono nel suo aspetto, nei suoi modi, nella sua voce. Fondano i suoi porogetti. Informano la cura con cui ne realizza l\u2019esterno e gli interni fin nei minimi particolari.<\/p>\n

Sicch\u00e9 il tema dell\u2019incontro ha un duplice senso: soggettivo e oggettivo. Elio Di Franco ha il dono dell\u2019arte di edificare e i sui edifici sono un dono.<\/p>\n

Quando il committente \u00e8 in perfetta sintonia con queste sensibilit\u00e0, come per il Dynamo Camp, l\u2019Architettura sembra raggiungere quello scopo ultimo per il quale \u00e8 stata da sempre pensata: la felicit\u00e0. Un luogo che accoglie bimbi affetti da gravi malattie, dove l\u2019unica terapia \u00e8 abitare giorni felici.<\/p>\n

Quando la burocrazia \u00e8 amica e le regole poche, chiare, semplici, di buon senso, come in Lussemburgo, riportare a nuova vita una raffinata palazzina Dec\u00f2 in decadenza, fa s\u00ec che la capacit\u00e0 del dono diffonda delizia non solo a chi l\u2019abita, ma alla citt\u00e0 intera.<\/p>\n

Straordinaria \u00e8 poi l\u2019idea stessa di mostrare la propria opera demolita davanti alla Fortezza da Basso. Provvisoria, ma molto apprezzata. La dura \u2013 e paradossale \u2013 legge del culto moderno dei monumenti, ne ha decretato la breve vita e la morte. Elio Di Franco non ha lasciato trasparire alcun senso polemico. Rovina e splendore dell\u2019architettura mostrate con l\u2019amore di sempre per la propria arte. Un grande, generoso dono anche questo.<\/p>\n

Anche le fortezze, quanto pi\u00f9 sono grandiose, si abbattono \u2013 \u00e8 lo scopo principale del nemico.<\/p>\n

\nThe art of the gift takes sensitivity, refined, simple elegance, and transparency, a lightness of touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elio Di Franco embodies all these qualities. As she introduced him, Laura Andreini pointed this out. He conveys these qualities immediately. They can be understood in his appearance, his manners and his voice. And they are the foundations of his designs. They inform the care he takes in designing exteriors and interiors down to the smallest detail.<\/p>\n

The talk’s theme was dual in its meaning, both subjective and objective; Elio Di Franco has the gift of the art of building and his buildings are a gift.<\/p>\n

When the client is in perfect accord with these sensibilities \u2014 as was the case with the Dynamo Camp \u2014 architecture seems to achieve that ultimate goal for which it has always been meant: happiness. This place welcomes children with serious illnesses, where the only therapy is spending happy days here.<\/p>\n

When bureaucracy is on your side and the rules are few, clear, simple and sensible \u2014 like in Luxembourg \u2014 bringing back to life an elegant Art Deco building in disrepair lets the gift gifting ability spread delight to those who go there and to the entire city.<\/p>\n

It was an extraordinary idea to show his own work that had been in front of the Fortezza da Basso and was demolished; it was a work that was temporary, but very much admired. The harsh \u2014 paradoxical \u2014 law of the modern worship of monuments decreed its death after a short life. Elio Di Franco conveyed no sense of contentiousness about it.. He showed us the ruins and beauty of his architecture with a steadfast love for his art. This is another great, generous gift.<\/p>\n

Even fortresses, when they are most magnificent, are brought down \u2014 indeed, this is the primary goal of the enemy.<\/p>\n
